Retail space design
All branding agencies have their own specialization. One of our key competencies is a comprehensive design solution for a retail brand, which includes interior and exterior development. LINII developed a lot of retail design concepts for many stores where you can come and see everything in detail, feel the customer experience and evaluate the convenience.
Next, we are developing CX (Customer experience), for which research is also being carried out. We conduct ethno-tours with target audiences, go along with them all the way, study purchasing missions and customer experience using the method of participant observation. When all the research has been completed and the necessary conclusions have been drawn, we begin to develop a retail concept. From the very beginning of the project, architects and brand designers are involved in the process, working as a team to integrate the identity into the space. As a rule, we present several options, show mood boards and references that convey the mood. The concept itself is demonstrated in sketches; these are not final 3D visualizations, but from them you can understand the general stylistic direction.
Also at this stage, the zoning logic of the sales area (bubble plan) and the shopping route are developed.
Next, we move on to a preliminary design project, for which a layout solution for the trading floor is developed and the design solution for the space is worked out in detail: architectural solutions, communications system and graphic design. All this is demonstrated on photorealistic visualizations.
A sketch design can be created both for a specific point that exists in reality, and for an abstract room, the so-called White box. Also at this stage, we prepare dimensional design drawings of individual design elements and specifications for retail equipment, materials, lighting, etc.
After the preliminary design, we move on to the detailed design stage, within which we prepare all the technical documentation, the entire package of drawings for the implementation of the object. It includes a plan for the arrangement of equipment, a plan for ceiling structures, a plan for floor coverings, a plan for the placement of lamps, layouts of walls with decoration, binding of retail equipment and graphic elements, etc. Based on the working draft, we can provide designer supervision services to monitor the implementation of all our ideas.
If the retailer has several formats or types of space, then the next step is to adapt the retail concept to them.
If we are developing a concept for a chain retailer, then at the end of the project, we usually develop a retail book. This is a document that combines all the rules for scaling our retail concept, both spatial solutions and graphic design.
