Naming and identity for an online Coffee trading platform
Colibri Coffee have launched a new international project — Beansy, a direct trade platform that connects coffee farmers with end buyers: roasters, café owners, and industry professionals. For the first time, the process of purchasing green coffee becomes fully transparent, flexible, and interactive: buyers can not only purchase coffee directly, but also influence its flavor profile by providing feedback to farmers.
LINII proposed a logo that evokes associations with both a globe and a coffee bean at the same time. The dynamic ribbon within the mark suggests movement and communicates continuous, direct interaction between the farmer and the buyer.
The identity is built around simplified, stylized flags of the countries that are major coffee producers. A vibrant pattern made from fragments of these flags evokes a patchwork quilt — a view of the Earth from above. Simple geometric shapes are also used across the coffee packaging.
All packaging solutions are also based on simple geometry — a continuation of the pattern. Each coffee bag receives its own combination of color modules, referencing the country of origin of the beans.
